I jus saw a super awesome movie. it's not new, in fact it's super old. EMPIRE OF THE SON. Gosh it's superb.

Empire of the Sun is an action-packed epic of a small boy in a great war. That boy is Jim Graham, a wealthy British boy who endured separation from his parents through World War II in Shanghai. During this time, Japan besieged the city and took as prisoners all the western residents, including Jim, our main character. The prisoners were taken to camps outside the city where they lived for the duration of the war.

The film presents a fascinating and realistic glimpse into the everyday life of the western captives and how they coped with the stresses of sometimes cruel oppression. Jim, played by Christian Bale, becomes a sort of kid hero among an adult majority. He somehow takes pleasure in helping everyone around him and develops his own system of exchange to get everyone the things they want. Through his eyes, we see the fascination and horror of war. And we see a child's hold onto childhood weakens as his struggle to survive grows fiercer.

This movie's by Steven Spielberg. The child Jim Graham is casted by Christian Bale, the one who starred in 'batman begins'. Incredible isn't it?
